I've had a love for photography since I was young. Whether it was a Polaroid or a Kodak 110, I was always the kid with the camera. This paid great dividends since there were no cell phones with cameras in the 70's and 80's. Today I am one of the few out of my group of friends fortunate enough to possess a large number of photos from our school years.
I was able to bring my hobby along with me through a full career in law enforcement. I was able to attend several formal photography classes and was able to photograph numerous crime scenes, automobile crashes and other aspects of the law enforcement world.
When I retired in 2016 I decided to devote more time to my favorite hobby and see where this would take me. Many photographers rely on their business as their sole source of income. I am so thankful to be able to choose the things I shoot. For the time being it’s going to be those things that I enjoy. Live music is my favorite and I would love to do more and am always looking for opportunities. I also enjoy surfing, events, wildlife and street photography. Right now I have no interest in shooting weddings or portraits, but respect those that do.
I look at photography as being the same as keeping a journal, only without the words. If you do it right, a photo will take you back and let you relive moments over and over. Yea I know that sounds kind of cheesy but who cares….it’s my page LOL
